Three A.M. Logic

Discussion of soul to mind whispered
before dawn beckons syllogisms.

Concepts
intimated,
integrated
in dark of
when one idea begins
and another ends

Discoveries molded of
thoughts channeling free
without structured design.

Poet then finds voice in
free verse of thoughts

                Let my soul speak
                and pen glide free
                in the hour of three.

Flow now scattered
thoughts of broken English

For is it of function or form...
Process or bottom line
that is poetry’s
realization,
revelation?

And does it matter if not captured in moment’s ink?

For when rest befall this weary mind,
no recollection of 3 a.m. logic.

Patricia
Enjoyed, get some of my best thoughts around 3am but unless I write them down I forget them.

The clipped format of this is like a lost thought in the shadow...you know it's there, did you speak it, or just dream it...

This is very much an excellent 3:00 a.m. poem....something that I truly believe we have all experienced at one time or another....

Very good, Patricia!

Patricia, I have poetic thoughts at 3am, but just about then, I'm ready for bed. You captured the feeling and logic well

Yes...Patricia...a worthy poem of a poet's mist...between the dark, and dawn....

Patricia - many nights I've know this 3 a.m. logic. But I've written then so as not to forget words of thoughts...

Exactly!!!

Sometimes words fail me; but they didn't fail you.

Thanks for sharing.

Patricia - yes yes exactly . . .
always write it down . . .
You may actually come back to it and
feel empowered by those 3am musings
Loved this query indeed

We each receive a wake up call from God between the hours of 3 and 6 AM.
Most of the time...we hit the God snooze alarm with a proise to get back to Him (or Her)later.

As Rumi said - "The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep."

I am glad you listened.
I would have missed your beautiful words.
