These poems have lived,
in crumbled papers
stuffed down an already ample bra,
in scratches and scribbles
from assorted pens - both Bics and Cross,
in lightbulbs that go off
between telephone calls,
they follow me in installments
disjointed verbs and adjectives
growing wings and feet
chasing me down supermarket aisles,
between hot sheets they've stopped the moment cold,
winking at me before morning wake up calls,
they feed and haunt me and beg for more,
making me their marionnete
seizing my voice at times,
transforming a shy flowergirl
into a naughty whore.

These poems have lived,
they are my truths
that i would otherwise hide,
tapping into some mysterious place
i've kept secret from the world outside.

inspired by sylvia plath's... stillborn

I don't know how many times I'm about to fall asleep. Wham here comes those words and I'm to lazy to get up. Then by morning they have left the house I can' t find them they are buried in the hidden corners of my mind.
Thanks for sharing.

Yep, they do that....well, maybe not the sheets part (picturing the scene "hold that pose, I've just got to write something down....")....at least not the hottest of hot sheets....I bow before your dedication to the art!
