The Woman That Walked Away

She played the part
that she loved me.
She played the part
that she cared.

But ultimately
she found a
different role
to play.

She played the woman that
pretended she loved me.
She played the woman
that walked away.

I feel sorry for you, do you need a shoulder to cry on?

Thank you Bill and Romantic for the nice responses...
Yes they do Bill, but I was forwarned...I just didn't want to believe it.
Thank you Romantic...this was long ago on a cold dark night...at this point my main goal is to determine my part in this failed relationship so I can do better next time...I take some of the blame...and as I like to say...they don't always work out...James

I liked this one.

Next time ... choose a woman who is not an actress ... truth and sincerity are much much better, but then I have no need to tell you this for you already know.  Dang! ... that hurts.

know what James...just experienced the same thoughts...and you know something...people won't and don't always do as we'd like...or dream they would do...they can't live up to our expectations of how we think/believe things should be...doesn't make them bad people...they just were not able to love us as we'd have liked them to...doesn't make the hurt any easier, but might help you to understand and ease the pain some...but I don't and won't believe people set out to delibrately hurt us...and lest we forget, we were there to...hope this helps...hugs...lee j.

Love lost is painful for both male and female. When loves more than the other painful indeed.
Sad poem. Glad you moving ahead.

James, even though this is sad, you wrote it beautifully. I'm glad that you are learning from your past mistakes. That's what my Gary and I both are trying to do.
Good luck to you, my friend.
