Was this result of long-time despair
Would it have mattered if we were there
Was she so convinced that no one cared
She chose this gesture?

In her desire to just find relief
She left us with overwhelming grief
We guess she never possessed belief
She was a treasure.

Though many thought her the very best
We're left with aching holes in our chests
And questions as we lay her to rest
With such displeasure.

No one can know what was in her mind
Or what conclusion she hoped to find
We just know the sorrow left behind
Is beyond measure.

how well i know the feelings expressed here,,  i guess we just have to remember the good times and cherish them...

A voice of honesty
   is treasured
more than voices
   of flattery

suthern---The sorrow bleeds through your words...can one person ever know what is witten in another's heart?  I'm sorry for this evident pain.

suthern,
you made me cry and having been on both sides of the equation that's no easy thing. I will not say I enjoyed this but it is well writen and I can relate.
Kethry

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Oh God, I hope and pray this is not what I think it is...and this is just a poem, not about anyone you know...and if it is...God bless you and all concerned...as when something like this happens, they don't take the time to think about the others left behind...and in my heart, I don't believe they meant any harm, but more so felt that they were bringing those that they loved more harm then good...but whatever reasons, please be strong...my heart goes out to you and yours. I'm so sorry.  Luv...Lee J.

whew. I know this one, Ruth.

I can't tell you how angry I was for a long time about just such an event--I finally had to come to the conclusion that she was in such intense pain and turmoil that it seemed liked an option. I pray I never understand that dark place either.

If this is from experience, may I send prayers and healing hugs your way?

I'm here if ya need an ear.

How do I answer you? I appreciate each and every one of you so very much... but I should have put a disclaimer...

This has touched my family more than once... but the poem was prompted by my experience on that other side... I came across some words I'd written... and remembered my sister coming over with her kids to stay in my face until the anti-depression medications could at least numb me, wrap me with hugs... and make sure I'd know what I was leaving behind.

It did hurt to write... and it may not belong here. But if anything... this was written in deepest gratitude that it wasn't written about me.

I thank you all... and apologize for not adding a note to it when I posted it.

It is sad when life gets that bad
and one feels there are no options left.

A tragic write, but one that says so much and speaks to so many,  I'm sure.

Hugs Suthern gal~

This is the sadest of it all, and causes such pain, guilt and grief.  How sad this was.

suthern....I know this..this confusion and doubt you write of....

If at first you don't succeed destroy all the evidence that you tried.

poignant
and since it was you --
healing

thank you for being brave
and for caring

it should never be an option....
but we are human
so
it continues
to be

There is power in you, Suthern lady of many names....and a depth of experience and understanding that you're beginning to truly tap....

I thought this one would make me bleed.

QjQ: I've certainly learned to cherish every day. *S* Thank you!

Martie: Sometimes... when they're very, very blessed.... But then they usually have matching writing on their own hearts. *S* Thank you so much, dear lady. *S*

Kethry: I know... and I'm sorry to have made you cry... Thank you, my dear STRONG friend.

LeeJ: Thank you so much for those compassionate words... they're truly appreciated.

serenity: You dear... I thank you so much... it does leave as much anger as grief and confusion.

Enchantress: It did... I couldn't have written it a few months ago. *S* Thank you very much. *S*

EA: That was more than adequate, my friend... thank you!

BC: You're most welcome... thank YOU!

Blues: And it (almost) happens more than you'd think... people hide torment well. Thank you very much.

Mysteria: I thank you so much for reading!

Ceinwyn: Then my sympathies are with you... thank you!

garysgirl: It can kill... almost did here without conscious decision on my part. Thank you!

brian: It is a bit like coming to PIP wearing the emperor's new clothes. *S* The healing was a long time coming... but it did happen. *S* Thank you very much!

Ratleader: Then we're even, my friend... for your choka ripped my heart. *S* And if there's depth of anything, it's depth of healing... I got true measure of that depth when I could write this... yes, I found hurt... but the hell wasn't there. Thank you!

PS: Thank you, dear lady... so much. *S*

in your reply you say.."it may not belong here" ...
trust me dear poetess Ruthie..

it belongs here...more so.. YOU belong
"here"
guardian angels come in all shapes and sizes...
all kinds of disguises...
sisters and childern wear the wings well.

let healing always be our aftermath.
