Apple Pie

I had some apple pie this morn
To greet and sweeten up the dawn
I had it with a sip of mist
That lingered from a dreams insist.

And as horizon painted views
That filled my eyes with blissful hues
I rolled my tongue the apples sweet
And took to heart the mornings treat.

I stretched my body waking up
Cried a cry just like a pup
Lingered in a muses chide
And smiled a smile I could not hide.

The mixture of my wake and view
And thought of wonders constant new
Left me in a daze of sweet
Delicious as the apples treat

But apples have a dark side too
The sweet is strictly up to you.

Love this, Sy...all my apples had peck holes, and are only good for the rabbits, birds and squirrels....but I think I'd like a slice of your pie...and a view with your muse!

Wonderful morning read Sy!
You're words leave me in awe..
as I sit here shaking my head..

A wonderful verse.  I love best the last couplet.  I think I will be calling this to mind for a very long time.

Smiling at you this morning!

Well at least it  wasn't crab apple. LOL

Earth Angel,
Don't know if Angels celebrate holidays, but if you do I saved you a piece of apple pie.

Oh, but the dark side is only cinnamon, so don't worry.  I enjoyed this delight with my morning tea.  Thank you.

I've said it before and I will say it again and again ...
for it's as true as the handsome hairs on your chinny chin.
You are the apple of my eye ... your poetry makes me high ...
you're the crust of wisdom, the sage and spice of rhyme's sigh.

No matter how you slice or dice it, you are a prophet & poet's poet ...
and I wont rest until you and all of poetry land knows it.

Hey Seymour, I missed this one yesterday and this morning. I love apple pie and yur poetry, so you know I love this. I like that little surprise at the end, too...

But apples have a dark side too
The sweet is strictly up to you

So, so true, my friend.
