As If

I could state, so many lives ago, I knew, you
as if I actually believed, or had an ounce of faith, it was true.

To live in a past, before we were born
To live another life, in time, in space, or in another form
To return here and now, to this place, at this moment
by some coincidental, reincarnated state.

I am walking through life, as destiny my guide
driven by, fate: to suddenly see
in this whole wide world, a familiar face.

As If, I knew

deep in those eyes, I knew I had never seen before
where a friend I had lost; or a love I had gained
did inhabit the life, of this familiar stranger.

Though I was about to proclaim
so boldly, out on a limb, I will exclaim!
This I do not believe, beyond a shadow of doubt
in any whimsical happenstance, random by chance
occurring series of events, actually taking place.
Thus in my book I can not accept such mere coincidence.

Yet I refuse to sit here writing these words for myself
while trying to explain to you the reader
reading for some deeper meaning, when we all know full well
any good deed is a selfish act.

Am I some prophet, with an ancient soul, who understands love?
life and wisdom of old.
Like I am able to impart, from depths of my soul
to you, any fraction of truth.

As if, I knew reason of reason

Would that I could pretend, to know and preach
some mystical chant, from out of those eons, we all lived in the past
that might help you or me, or any other person for that matter
gain even the most miniscule enlightened, glimpse of truth.
so that we might begin to possibly understand who is that “I am”.

As if

So just maybe this is about, what may or may not have been
all wrapped up in, a past that may or may not exist
I accept fate is, fate, and hold pretence of the simple fact, which is:

As if, I knew

I need not be concerned, with that, I know you or you know I notion
from some other past life, but here and nowis a plain fact;
it is unavoidable, inescapable, firmly grounded in truth
and because we are present, in this here and now, I can claim
it has been destined.
Then it will be fate that will determine, from now into the future.

As if, I actually knew

It's a very good poem and heartfelt and to be honest it makes you think a little.  Fon't you think?

Sometimes you can't change what's going to happen but you can change how you percieve it.
