Listening to every heart

This is summer, then
early dawn rays
shimmering upon the
cottonwood leaves dance
underneath the southern breath
of a fresh break of wind

Leaves glimmering hello
to sol sun,
dancing their way in full reel,
escorting the day
with red-winged blackbird song

Willows and olive trees join in
dip, bend, sway,
cattails hold the choir
all dressed in splendid black
epaulets of red in blaze

Sing to me the morning song
before summer’s passion melts my soul
before noon finds me napping
beneath the oak on the hill.

Karilea, I find myself napping a lot around noon time....
Could it be because I stay up so late?  LOL

This has to be one of the most beautiful verses I have read.
Talk about lazy hazy summer days!
Made me want to grab a book and run outside and read under a tree.
Lovely lovely Karilea...

K, the images are incredible, the flow perfect. I love the words and the feel.  There you have it...I guess I better venture out this morning before the afternoon sun calls me to nap.

Just beautiful!
Into the library with this treasure!

Seriously, I am in need of help...I read the last two lines and thought it meant death...what is wrong with me?  Anyway, it was beautiful.
