Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-07-03 01:26 AM

You terrify me.
Your eyes make my heart stop cold.
Every beat of my heart makes me fear that that’s
One beat closer to loving you.

You terrify me.
Each time you touch me I feel like screaming.
Each time you touch me I feel like running away.
I believe one of these days I will
Scramble up a tree like a stingy squirrel, who has just found another’s treasure.

You terrify me.
I think if you make me feel this way once more
I’ll sprout wings and head south.
Involuntarily.

You’re healing me.
You see the fear in my eyes, but still you push.
Just a little harder. And with each tiny shove
I am placing a tiny bit of trust in you.
Such a tiny trade
That means so much.

You’re healing me.
Each time you touch me
I feel the slight shudders within me.
Each time you touch me I silently hope your hand
Never pulls away.
I do believe one of these days you will become
The tree that I climb.

You’re healing me.
I think that if you make me feel this way once more,
I’ll sprout a heart and love you.
Involuntarily.

A part of loving is involuntary... Allowing it to "BE" in our lives is sometimes a voluntary thing though - Sometimes we do need to remind ourselves to voluntarily allow that involuntary healing to happen...

I enjoyed this, KoKo...

Just let it be KoKo...wallow in the gift of it and rejoice at the nature of something good, learn to look to the sky with acknowledgement of how really lucky you were and are for noticing this gift...being all wrapped up in it like a cozy little foal being born into a world of your own courage, trust...allowing each and every experience stronger legs for the walk.  Wonderful write.

Right you are, Nan. Thanks.

LeeJ-- Ditto the last part

Blues-- lol Thanks. Do you happen to know of any special fertilizer I should give my budding heart?

Eric-- Thanks for the read and write. I really appreciate it

Eddles-- Of course there will be more. You know why? Because you'll be there to yell at me when I give up, lol! I don't think I told ya that you're still very poetic, even when you're scolding
