Poet’s Curse

what is this curse
to know so much
and touch so little
you do not admit it
but you have it too
standing in the
smoky shadows of
ripples between the lines
to find yourself
reaching for something
just short of the edge

"i am out of estrogen and i have a gun"

Maybe there's prose in that edge... (hint, hint)

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

i AM working on them...i promise but my brain needs a break and poetry does it..but i am a slave to the "stories" for there has ended up to be many and the first will be shown soon...found it an obsession now that it has started and not much sleep...for i am writting many at the same time...remembering...(and the writing part is easy, i just don't type well)...h

I do, yes, exactly that....and I can't avoid the feeling that the real poetry lies beyond, if I can only reach over that edge and not be slashed by it.....

The poem is great.

The curse is awareness.  Most humans live as if they are asleep; poets are awake at least a few minutes more than normal.

Eventually, the truths which become apparent, as a by-product of awareness, will drive all of us mad.

Helen,  the edge is where we all strive to
get to....sometimes we don't have any idea
that maybe we reached it...  Still striving,
still pushing...

This is a good poem.  No bout a doubt it...

Or poet's puzzle.
Interesting twists and turns.
But "just short of the edge"?
hmmmmmmmm
I have a certain innate reluctance at edges . . . I wonder . . .

yes, sometimes I wish I was as dark as people think I am. That was just great, it's going in my library
