Listening to every heart

Pity, pity the poor, poor poet
Beleaguered by such small request
For want of muse, nay, I shan’t abuse
The request, I promise, O,
How I promise….

But throw me a word, a snippet of
What?  I beseech, no, need to plead with you,
Please, perhaps, a word, perchance, just one,
Something you might make do without,

Something akin to

Melodrama

~*~

So, in compliance
she complied with a response, for that poet
Needed no more of this, this damnable drama,
Oh Horrors, no,
For too long had her song gone unplayed,
Displayed, arrayed, and splayed

Then flattened more emphatically
than the key of she.

“Do with it what you will, but just,
just take it away
from me.”

~*~

Here sits my Thesaurus of all Quotes
Bare of the melodramatic search itself,
Though full of examples before my eye
To be seen, and heard, and felt

But where, Oh Where, the song?

~*~

Ah, now, the song…the drama, they lie within,
And it’s always up to you,
To take a gist and make a moment
Then cast it before our view,

To sing the song, or splay the drama
Or combine both for the very best,
That a poet or painter or bard, or I
Might see life’s melody in this drama’s test.

Thanks to Patricia, for throwing me a word...

smiling.

I don't write with a map and compass either.

This made me smile this morning, and it's just LUSH.

Hugs back, you.

You be a poet who writes of life's melody, mellifluously!

Yes indeed...Karilea, I don't think I will look at melodrama the same way again.  Now I see it as an opportunity to sing life's melody.

I was just thinking yesterday how melodramatic I am.  I guess not such a bad thing for a poet!  LOL

Love this!  A keeper, it is.

*Smiling..love this...smiling not only because of this..
but because I have been told by a certain wizard in this castle,
that I am the Queen of Melodrama...
Methinks once he reads this he may just change his mind.
Wonderful piece of work...
~Hugs YOU!~

You certainly had a lot of fun and pondering with your "melodrama." I thank Patricia, too, for throwing it to you!

To think sunshine could be melodramatic.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

LOL...Well sure glad this didn't lead where the title took me!!!     Cool inspiration!
Hmmm...seem to have this vague recollection of throwing another word at ya.  Think it rhymed with "Sontag"...well loosely!  lmao
