(I wrote this from a male point of view. Or what I hope is a male point of view. How would I know? Anyhow, I wanted a lighter mood.)

Rainy Days

I was standing in the rain
on the corner of Give It Up and Pain
watching hope glug down the drain
when she walked by.

There was something about her stride-
a little tilt, a little slide-
that made me want to give the ride
another try.

So I painted on a grin,
offered her poetry and gin,
and she agreed to take a spin,
to my surprise.

So here’s a toast, raise up your glass:
when you’re sunk in life’s morass,
there’s nothing like a lass,
to clear the skies.

Nan,  I think this qualifies as a write
that could have been written by one of many
males around here,  including moi.

A cute poem,  thanx for sharing it with us.

Sorry I made you cry...

Interesting! I, myself, never thought of writing from the male perspective! That is such alien territory! LOL  But you did a marvellously entertaining job of it!

Enjoyed!
Bottoms up!

Some time back, there was a challenge to put yourself into the shoes of the opposite sex and write a poem [or prose].  I chose prose.  It's an excellent feeling, to be able to try to see out of the eyes of another, especially of the opposite sex.  I'd say you did a fine job with this, and if the challenge were still up, I'd say you had met it, very well indeed!

Definitely a male perspective and definitely a good one.

definetly a poem i could drink to.

The only difference between the creative and the conformists is that the creative will not be conquered and the conformists already are.

Thanks, Martin. Well, I don't have a male point of view, but I've got a couple of sons, and I've seen the way their eyes light up when a girl walks in the room, so I thought this was at least reasonable.

October, thanks!
