Adam

It was a conscious decision
to follow her suit
not, it would seem
a decision of conscience

For he barely considered
disdaining the fruit
while knowing they’d taste
the fruit of disdain

Ah yes - conscious decisions - free will.  God did give us all, didn't he?

More, please?

When I was younger, my brother and I used to import/export small animals and reptiles...being the only single one, I had the pleasure of keeping all the snakes. I lived in this house that was split into four apartments. Next store were these to very lovely ladies that used to invite me over for dinner etc. frequently...we were just friends. One afternoon, one of the snakes had died. We were going to have a barbecue in the back yard under this little crabapple tree. I took the dead snake, draped it over one of the branches and figured I'd freak out the gals, be a big hero and take care of the snake. I draped it over a limb that one little apple at the end. The gals saw the snake, screamed and I went over to the tree and replied: "Hey look, the snake's dead and the apple's back, let's get out of these fig leaves and have a real barbecue. Now obviously, these ladies had not been reading their Bibles and didn't know the story of Adam and Eve and how they started wearing fig leaves to cover themselves after eating the fruit..so, needless to say this didn't work out well..

Very interesting write.
You think Adam wishes he had that day back?
Amazing how one action can cause such tremendous ripples in time.
I wrote a poem on this topic in open poetry #26, called Adam's Fall. Check it out if your
interested.
Good stuff.

I don't get to reply as often as I get to read. I'm always out here somewhere.

Nodding my head at this one....wishing I had your touch with the words.

Late at night you'll come crawling back
Just to steal a piece of me
