Artwork by Josephine Wall

It's raining here today
The drops are thick and heavy
Someone stole the sun away
Funny how it coincides with everything I feel
Just wondering what is real
And what's illusion...

I miss the fleeting sun
For in those moments it had looked
Like summer was begun
But now it feels like plans and hopes
Have washed right down the drain
And left behind residual seclusion...

But wait...the rain has ceased!
It seems that Mother Nature's thirst
Has finally been appeased
And now she's arching brilliant
In the sky just overhead
Her colored band a product of illusion
A simple gift to man, for her intrusion!

Reminded me of that old song about Camp Granada...and a letter he was writing to his parents.   "Wait a minute, its stopped raining, guys are swimming, guys are sailing, playing baseball, gee thats better, mother, father kindly disregard this letter."

Live like it's your last day...

Hi James!!  Thank you, and oops...now I know what age you are by that song!!!!  Ha!!!!

Hi SEA!  Yes, those lines just expressed it for me at the moment, too.  Oh, I love the work of Josephine Wall...she's just fantastic in everything she paints.  Thank you, my friend!!

Hi passing shadows! I'm like you, as I sometimes hate the rain, especially when I have to be out in it to get stuff done!  Would much rather sit in the sun, wouldn't you??  Rain is only temporary...and thank you for being here!

Hi bbent!!  Good to see you.  Well, the rain stopped, the sun came out, and the world's bright and shiny again.  Yep, remember that song...'Storms Never Last'??  Thank you, bbent|!!

Hi Ethel, and thank you so much!!  My puter has been on the blink, and now I borrow Music Maker's when he is at work, so hopefully I will be able to visit more often. (You don't know how much you are hooked to the puter until it dies on you!!) Good to see you too, believe me!!!!

But now it feels like plans and hopes
Have washed right down the drain
And left behind residual seclusion...

It can be so comforting to curl up inside on a rainy evening... or sleep in, letting the rhythm of the rain lull us back to dreams. *S* But rain can also bring about somber reflections... where the dimness of light outside seems to make our mood even darker. *S*

This is lovely, Sunnyone... finishing with a promise that all will be better eventually. *S* Well done!

Hi Suthern, and thank you!!  You know, sometimes I personally find that I need that rain in order to appreciate the brightness that comes into my life.  The residual seclusion gives me time to ponder what it's all about, eh??
