I bare my back
for the lashes
of honor,
for I have sinned
against Allah
by being raped
by a married man
and now I must
pay the price.
I have disgraced my family
and now bare my back
to receive my punishment,
100 lashes, or maybe
a stoning.
I beg your forgiveness.

sad, yes, and this is happening daily, 'round the globe

It's not about me...this time, anyway.
It's about the constant torture of humans, both men and women, for 'religious' and 'political' violations,
and about speaking out against such things...not remaining complacent, silent, not ignoring the horrors just because they aren't happening to us personally.

Sigh! Thank you for your impressive poem, dear Kacy and for sharing the site.
How long will it take for such horror to stop?
But I trust in results due to modern communication and an increasing number of people reacting.

Thank you for reading and commenting. My dream is that one day there will be no need for such 'action' letters or protesting, that the human race will come to its senses.
But, 'till then, I will protest all the violence. Guess that means I'll be doing this to the end of my days.
sigh.....
