When the tendrils of night have vanquished day,
allowing moon and stars to flaunt their display,
The wind awakening invokes a breeze,
that slow dances softly through the trees.
Ghost mountains rise to embrace the sky,
echoes of sadness in the whippoorwill's cry,
A shooting star traversing time and space,
hurtling through the heavens in a fiery race.
A serenade of silence lulls the world to sleep,
as angels hover near, love's vigil to keep.

odd choice of words, but i liked it. "Vanquished" especially. I don't typically like rhyming poetry but this was very well done. Definetely sets a mood.
