In honour of CANADA DAY - July 1!

Red And White Glory

No stars, nor Venus can compare
to Canada, true north so fair,
that I am born of precious place
of magic earth, exuding grace.
Where dreams do live to bright the day
where fairies paint and angels play,
O Canada, my home sweet home
‘tis here I love, no need to roam.

An eyes delight from far and wide
to mountains, prairies, oceans pride -
the world’s elite, a wonderland,
I rise for thee with heart in hand.
Where freedom rings and bluebirds sing
and rainbows prance to warm the spring,
God’s work of art, the best of all
strong maple leaf, flag standing tall.

For Canada is heaven’s light
the glorious dear red and white!

We stand on guard for thee!

I am missing Canada Day this year as I am down in MA with Nan.  I will be honoring her just the same as I celebrate with my little flag out.  I will be having my first 4th of July experience though even if it doesn't make up for being HOME!

Wonderful write Melissa and Happy Canada Day!

America could not have such a great neighboor as we have with our Canadian brothers.May we always face the future side by side.

O Canada

I came to you when I was nine
braided hair, wide eyed and bell bottoms
groovy fashion at the time

I had many 'firsts' upon your beautiful land
public schooling,
cheesecake, pizza
and my first kiss

going to
church ~ temple ~ and other spiritual centers
I was able to spread closed wings
experiencing many things

This land...
You give of yourself so freely
I am blessed to have come here
helping to plant seeds
of good deeds.

I love you Canada!
I love you,
Angela

Nananana nananana hehehey goodbye! A matter of taste and mine is obviously better. A truly bilingual hockey club with tradition and respect. Only the yankees have won more championships. And besides you're team is uglier than ours..Tie Domi, Mats Sundin and Ed belfour..yeesh looks like evolution took a wrong turn

Enjoy your festivities - keep them safe, and sane.  We'll be doing the same down here in a few days!  I always enjoy the joining of hands during this week, between our two countries!

Melissa, I'd like to see more of this style from you.  A wonderful write that causes me to smile.  Well done, my friend.

Very Way cool Melibee!!!!! just wish I had been in my old home town of Windsor to celebrate..... Good case of pyrotechnics and freedom festival .... but alas, Toronto is where I call home now... and still in CANADA!!!!  What a great country to call home... no matter where that is and I agree.... why roam anywhere else... I still have alot that I haven't seen in this great country of our's.
