...
she sits in the darkness, staring into the void and absentmindedly guiding the flea on her forearm with a grubby fingertip. the air is sweet, like the stars poured little pink packets swirling with aspartame into the sullen atmosphere; she will not partake. words like spotlights dangle from the ceiling of her ballroom mind...having wafted from the squawk-box into revolving doors [caught helpless and tormented...a well-lit, tortured end] only to jab their pointed speech at her tender ideals. eventually, she stands- and, feet first into the darkness, she walks. faster, farther, and suddenly furious...but she can't outrun those words. they linger, lurking between glances and beneath the faintest of twilight desires [knowing her fantastic dreams beyond the stoic facade, they writhe and force literary contortions to well up from within].

The Nameless, Faceless Band strikes up a beat...somewhere beneath osentatious chandeliers clinking like champagne flutes--a audible response to their crystalline glow--it all falls together (footsteps on worn carpet, bare and quick to match her breakneck pulse..the wings of the lonesome flea, fluttering somewhat systematically...microscopic yet keeping perfect time with the champagne chandelier cymbals which accompany The Band...all egocentric anomalies--words within her head)

far beyond the windowsill..the sun yawns and strokes the suburban streets.

one dimlit, lazy finger
and the poem is no more.

I found this very breathtaking, but we have a seperate forum for prose.

I said I'm going to buy a gun and start a war,
If you can tell me something worth fighting for

This is just wonderful...

Truly, a gem of a thought.

And yes, there is a forum for prose here.

Welcome to the board, hope to read more.

what a very very cool image and personification.
A very unique abstract write.
Welcome to poetry land...nice to have you here with us.
I love your pen name.

All I can feel is this distance between you and me.
I can say I love you but I can't make you believe me
because touching is believing.
