It was just another summer Sunday
Perhaps a dedicated to fun day
There's no way to know their destination.

Were they going home from church attended?
Was an afternoon outing intended,
Perhaps a long awaited vacation?

Who knows what might have caused the van to swerve
Maybe road-tired eyes didn't see the curve.
Whimpered prayers of why filled me as I passed.

When they began their trip on this morning
I'm sure this family had no warning
Tomorrow wouldn't come - today's their last.

Life, indeed, is very fragile. This was so tragic and sad.

Life spins on a dime and a poet never knows what may be the inspiration for the next poem.

Lovin' hugs,

Ow, this one hurts!

But the hurt comes through because you show so well -- good to see you up here where you belong, my friend.

Ruth, we never know when our next breath will be our last, do we? This is very good writing, Lady.

By the way, I love the way you rhymed the last word of the first two lines of each sentence......and then the third lines of the first two verses and the last two verses. Is this called some form of poetry?Whether it is or not, I love it.

Sunshine: Thank you, ma'am. *S*

EA: I know this one is somewhat choppy... but I went with what poured out as I traveled on down the road (carefully *S*). Thank you!

Seymour: Thank you for reading!

Ratleader: It did hurt... and does. Thank you so much, my friend.

garysgirl: No... we don't. Thank you! I'm glad you like this... but I don't think it's any form but suthernese. *S*

Hawk: I don't know... but if little body bags don't grip a person's heart, they lack one. Thank you, nephew dear.

Enchantress: I thank you very much.

Nightshade: Be careful... yes... good advice for all of us. *S* Thank you, sweet lady!

SmartChick: Thank you very much!

Patricia: I'd just been with family... so it was a powerful reminder. Thank you!

PS: I have a recurring dream of just that... precognition or nightmare... who knows? *S* Thank you, lady... And as for the pic... how does the second Tuesday of next week sound? LOL

How did I miss this??
I must be more moth blind than I thought.
I may not know the format or rhyme scheme's technical name, but I know if its "suthernese" then its poetry of the heart ...And this one plays the heart strings. Compassionate write poetess Ruth.
