Stormy gray clouds racing across the sky, the wind a banshee
screaming in an uncontrolled rage,
turning the ocean into a frothing mountain of turbulence.
White caps sinking into gray angry darkness-
Waves swelling in defiant insolence against the deadly reefs.
Standing high on the cliffs of loneliness stands a
lovely young woman.
Her gown, ripped and torn, whipping around her slender ankles-
Pulling, dragging
like that of the icy tentacles of the monsters of the sea.
She wears a sheer mantle of lace, to hide the tears,
to hide the pain.
Her voice when she speaks is filled with raspy
emotional emptiness.
No one able to see the tears cascading down her porcelain skin,
or the breaking of her gentle heart.
No one to hear her cry of
“Why?”
Her tears for all the yesterdays, all the wasted years lost in a moment, in a second of time, his life, his love,
vanished.
Standing near the edge shaking her fist in rage.
Sheer mantle of lace floating on the wind.
The only sound you hear is the crying of the wind
and
the crashing of the angry sea.

Brings to mind the original "Ghost & Mrs. Muir"...

A very nice write, Bonnie.

I just looked back a bit to find another of your poems.  I wasn't dissapointed.  Keep up the good work.

A stormy write is often the best kind...
simply because of the surging momentum,  and the way it charges right into the heart and confronts it head on.

Sadly, this, and oh so good!
