The Test

I saw her for the first time… yesterday.
Now, keep in mind this is a woman I’ve known for sometime, but I saw her for the first time yesterday.

Yesterday, I looked into her eyes
seeing past her beautiful exterior.
Yesterday, I got a glimpse
of what makes all other women inferior.

Since Yesterday, my thoughts have been consumed,
visualizing acts & positions that some consider shady.
Since yesterday, I’ve been able to think of nothing else, but how can I make this woman, my lady.

She said I was the type of brotha
that could have her all, but not tonight!
She was feeling my style and loving my conversation,
but the timing wasn’t right.

She said she was already committed in a loving relationship, but what troubled her so.
Even though she was happy, the thought of us making love, would not let her go.

She had already imagined just how it would be,
anticipating every move I would make.
She said that if I could but meet half her expectations,
it might be more than she could take.

She sad that in her wildest fantasies,
I was the only star.
And it was taking everything she had,
to keep things form going to far.

We continued to talk for what seemed like hours,
I knew the direction we were headed was wrong.
But try as I might, to do what in knew to be right,
my will power was just not that strong.

We shouldn’t be having this conversation,
after all, she already had a man.
But the more we shared, the more I cared,
the temptation was more than I could stand.

Whose to say that this isn’t my blessing;
that God choose to bring this woman to me.
Whose to say that the reason she’s unsure
isn’t because she’s not with who God wants her to be.

If I sense the possibility and pass on the opportunity,
will I miss my chance to find love?
Or is the possibility the perfect opportunity,
because it’s a test from above.

Is this simply a test of my patience;
my faith that in time God will provide.
Or has my patience finally paid off
and it’s up to me to keep this woman by my side.

papabear this is very beautiful, deep dialogue with your self. Such questions might find answers if you exercise patience!
An important write.
