Under construction

The highway and I, we are under construction;
every day the Lord and I travel back
and fourth over the four lanes.
I thank Him for the time between here and there
that we have to share.

My folly has placed a mountain in my path
and to me the removal of such is a massive task.
But by faith I am given the use of a vehicle with authority
so well thought out that that alone I cannot shift the gears
and give it gas.

Fortunately for me I also am not required to guide it.
Your hands are on the wheel and given
that you know the finished product must make
make the steering easier.

You know which valleys need filling and
through which we must traverse.
And much more than I, you know
what I am not yet ready to overcome and how
to build an overpass.

Pave me with patience Lord, for the times when
you change the light to red;
let me need not evidence that you are smoothing
the rough spots in the way ahead.

And when tears roll down let me not
set off too fast and furious, lest I be judged
by my own hasty proceedings.

I know not the blueprint, but I am confident
that you, the Creator, do.
Each time we progress another bit of the finished
product is revealed,

but unlike the roadway that has an estimated date of
completion, Lord, I pray you never stop
reconstructing me.

well, I go the interstate every day and construction is all I see...

big orange barrels have become the state flower I suppose

can't help but to think about God, yes

I love the beautiful faith of this... but how I do hope you'll soon find a smooth freeway. *S*

thank you ladies, I guess I am a strange sort, where there is major highway construction should be irritation, but instead I have stolen the time to ease my soul....
thank you all so much, and yeppers lady, pretty soon, we will get the bumps out of the road *smile*
you run over something enough times, its gotta flatten out...right? lol
