Friday finagles its way
Into making you believe
There are reasons to pretend
That two days off
From the work for him blues
Will give you some rest
A season of short respite
To retreat into home

Fickle Friday
That all too often simply says
Tomorrow is another day
And that pile of paper
Those tasks undone
Still must be attended
And dressed with finery for
The Monday parade
Of nonsensical

Finally Friday

And a workweek should end

I used to know what Friday meant

It used to mean a sigh
A soft touch of someone’s hand
Welcoming me

Now it is an enigma
That juxtaposes the desires
With the reality
Until even the sphinx
Blinks at the consternation
And confusion that exist

Sing your praise for Friday
But know the words of your hymn
May well come back and taunt you
May well haunt you

Come Friday
Someday soon.

Oooh I know what you mean Ron!
I was sitting here waiting for 'Friday' to appear from you..
and low and behold..just like magic..up it popped.
Good one!  Have a TGIFriday!

The haunt of the Friday sighs...

so much I could say here
but right now
less is more.

Every day is just another day....to do magic in! You already did one bit of it with this poem -- so what else do you have up your sleeve, eh? Whatever it is, don't let it bite your writin' hand......

Ron...I work on Saturday and it's one of my busiest days...but I do understand this...and of course, you wrote it well, as you always do.

Isn't that the truth, though? *S* I like this very much, Cap'n... especially the gentle warning. *S*
