Bending over,
existing in life’s abuses,
seeing life as a special treasure,
beauty of endless horizons,
free thoughts floating
among the winds.

There are those
wanting to dictate
conservative philosophies,
molding society to their values,
imprisoned social pressures,
set boundaries of acceptance.

You can be closed in by others,
but the window out of confinement,
will allow dreams to filter through,
the inner universe within will wander
under no one’s control.

Conservative control of media,
school books of mis-understanding,
dictatorial laws of conformity,
debates with predetermined results,
words banned as obscene
their meaning misunderstood,
dictionary of lost freedoms,
constitution imprisoned in regulations.

Earthquake, liberal arts explosion,
blue sky of exquisite exploration
running barefooted, an independent dance
laws of respect of one’s individuality,
right to have conservative values
in liberal ways of expressions,
dictionary of profound artistic works
inspiring the next generation of thinkers.

So bend me, but do not break me,
for putting dreams to paper
creating images to ponder,
forming differing opinions,
for art sometimes is in
creating controversy.

Thoughts: In the balance of conservative to liberals, their must be equality to hear both sides of the issues, respect of each other’s individual identity, for if we drift too far, even a conservative may want to be more liberal and a liberal may want to put on restraints.
