Simply Beautiful I was sitting around sipping on some cognac, reminding my boys how great I use to be. With each sip I sounded better and better, damn, was that story really about me? The conversation turned to the love of my life, the reason for this gathering, my wife to be. Everyone wanted to know what was it about her that could make an honest man out of me. They asked me what I liked about her and I replied she’s simply beautiful. But as the words left my tongue and spilled past my lips, I knew a longer description would be more useful. She’s the wind beneath my wings, oh wait, I’ve heard that somewhere before. She’s my motivation to keep moving forward, when I don’t know what the future has in store. She’s the reason I get up in the morning, and the reason I rush to bed at night. Seeing her when I wake up, is the reason I thank God for the gift of sight. She’s the one that always has my back, always keeping my best interest in mind. She’s the one that put up with all faults, while I searched within for the man she always knew I would find. She’s the one that sets my soul on fire and provides relief with the slightest touch. She’s the one I’d do anything for, because seeing her smile means just that damn much. She’s my everyday inspiration, reminding me to live life day by day. She’s my friend, my lover, my soul mate; she’s the one that truly knows me, and loves me anyway.
