Did you really think me done?
Sometimes I simply pity you.
You really did. You thought you won.
Come here, love and lick my shoe...

Changing tactics, run and hide--
be very still in shadow's keep.
Just know I've got my eye on you
and patience will kill those who creep.

Go ahead and stretch your wings.
I will grant you one more flight.
But know your days are done my friend--
know this is your final night.

There is nothing that you did--
you lived your life accordingly.
Yet you erred the day you dared
to walk all over me.

Nothing now but ritual.
A paper towel is your shroud.
I flush the toilet--victory--
I turn to greet the roaring crowd.

Undefeated champ, I am!
You will bother me no more.
One by one--I count the dead--
six hundred thousand forty-four...

Oh do I have roach stories...one across the dash of my car..almost wrecked....and another where I ran and got the spray and the thing took flight and landed on my chest!!  Don't tell me they don't know what they are doing!!  Creepy, sneaky, crunchy filth!

Great poem though!!

Michael? I suppose you could help out, um, if your hose will reach new orleans, that is...

And actually it's a bit better now. We did have the house treated, but there's that part after spraying where they just go crazy before they die...hmmmm...IZZAT WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME????

sighs and winks. I worry too much.

Thanks for smiling with me folks.

You realize of course that this has literally given me the heebie jeebies I hate bugs of any kind, and since when do cockroaches fly?  C'mon, say you were kidding.  You were kidding right?  If they fly they could land on you and now I KNOW for sure I will not sleep tonight.  That is a given!  Is there nothing you can not write about lady?

I remember seeing that pie chart of all the animals in the world....and the non-bugs were a little tiny slice at the top......

.....and it was calculated by body weight....

Nice poem, you! I love wit in verse....

Well...now I got the creepy crawlies..., I'll be itchy all night long!

But seriously, once when I was a kid we lived in a house that had roaches complete with wings.  We were kids, and we had a ball at night after mama cut the lights out...we'd flick our flashlights, and get them critters to flying around, then we'd take turns with the bat....

Wasn't that mean?
Oh well....mama appreciated it cause she never did have to call the bug man...us kids took care of that problem....

HaHa, thanks for the memory!

Hugging Sharon!!! Miss you lady! (um...Roaches don't fly...far)*chuckle* Still wanna come visit me?
bwahahahaha And ask Nan about the coffins that pop out of the ground too.   to Nan.

And now for the roach report. Balladeer you'd be proud. So far, bug activity is minimal to non-existant.

And thanks to all--almost didn't post this--but I figured I write about everything else in my life, why not this?

Serenity is serene.

*shudder* roaches are gross... you have my deepest sympathy... long live the queen roach killer (don't ask where I came up with that one lol)

It is said the Creator has taken a handful of South Wind and given each newborn Arabian the power of flight without wings

According to radiologists: A lethal dose of radiation for humans is 800 rems.
The American cockroach can withstand 67,500 rems. Which means, since it's very unlikely you'll kill them--even with a "Thermonuclear" Bug Bomb, your best bet is still the ol' shoe. Oh and make sure they're dead when you flush them. Otherwise, you're simply sending them to their "Happy Place" (the sewer).

By the way; here in the LA area, I see the kids using them as skateboards.

Mysteria, we've got those flying suckers here in Florida, too!!! Sometimes they'll fly in the door when it's opened, if you're not looking. They like to get around oak trees.

They're big boogers, too...but not as big as the ones Suthern talked about back in discussion.....She said that you could put a saddle on some of them she's seen. Doesn't she live in Texas?

just picture that, folks...putting a saddle on a cockroach and riding it. LOL
