For the Poet in You

I sit back and relax,
place pen to pad, and Ahhhhh….
the words just flow.
I thank God everyday,
for the gift of poetry
the ability to express feeling I can’t show.

Everyone has a poet,
somewhere deep within.
Waiting for a chance to get out;
crying everyday you keep them locked in.

I’m glad I found my poet,
rather I’m glad he found me.
Without this form of expression,
God only knows where I’d be.

For some many years I was a stereotype;
I followed the status quo.
Be a man; don’t show your feelings,
crying was a definite no.

This form of expression allows me to say,
what I never could before.
When I asked the Lord to open my heart,
I never guessed, this is what he had in store.

My pen has become my voice,
and my pad, an old friend.
Always there we I need to talk,
an outlet when I have a broken heart to mend.

I feel so blessed to have poetry in my life,
I want to shout it for the whole would to know.
So I take every opportunity to pour out my heart,
at every spoken word show.

We all feel this...in many ways,  and I
totally agree with you.  Poetry has allowed
me to let many feelings come into the world
and be shared.  Letting me come to the
realization that we are all similar in many
ways though unique too.

Thanx.

This is so true, papabear. I really love the way you wrote this and the sincerity that I felt in it.

Poetry and writing really do let us get our inner feelings out more, doesn't it? Since my Honey-Love and I are in a long-distance relationship, we write a lot of letters, and poetry to each other. I think that is why we have so much more of a bond with each other than we ever have had with anyone else before. Through our words, we really do know each other better.

Well, I didn't mean to say so many words, then. LOL
Thanks for sharing your heart with us.
Heart hugs to you
Ethel

exhale, Thanks for the luv..

Magnus, I agree... I've meet so many people thru poetry that have the same passion, share similar experiences, and have similar dreams...

garysgirl, I really can understand what you're saying... My Lady had to spend some time at home when a member of her family was sick and I felt like in that time apart we grew much stronger and the relationship so much more passionate...

suthern, Thank you!
