The core of you, unwanted seed now drying
in the harsh winds of yesterday as today
brings to my memory the bitter taste,
once sweet.

Once a bloom, a blossom of beauty,
growing slowly in the nurturing rains
of Spring....Now withered, yet still
clinging to the stem of what was, but
is no more.

Tangy, the lips once kissed, now dried
and cracked from a weathering of
arid gusts, a downpour of waters
from eyes that no longer see the
once firm flesh..

When you changed, I changed...
The blush of you now pale and
gray as I ripen and become the
sweet succulent cider for lips
that yearn the heady taste.

Go now...fall to the cracked
earth of your roots.  Shrivel
to the bake of a blistering sun
beyond the shadow of cool
passionate rest.

For when I found the once
whole worm, dangling from
death’s bed...I knew...

You are full of apples today,
Magnus...
but you went from charming
to bittersweet...

and this one
plied a tear...

Excellent writing....

(big hugggssssssssss) Can much relate here, dearest friend, that happened to me and Joanna and I didn't see it coming, and I forgive her but yet we never talk again and I don't think she remembered me at all that whole time! (sad sigh) I'm just a wistful early bird trying to find the worm in this dust bowl, God Bless You, we all love yu so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Barry, a cold chill ran through me as I read this verse and has still yet to leave me.

I am reminded of a few years ago...

Powerful verse.

Certainly powerful in the tone and undertone...between the lines.
A difficult digestion as life continues...to find we are unmatched and invisible.
