White-Gemmed Carpet

Watermelon dribbled down my neck
Knelt out of reach the surfs haphazard trek
Laying into sands, warming in collected sunbeams
Coveting the curves of me, gloving into arching sweet dreams

Outlined by the trees
A courtesy umbrella stretching
From the edges on their knees
A restful backdrop fine and fetching

Glittered waves capsize against the white-gemmed carpet sands
My cares disposed, reclined for just a time against these gentle lands
Softly silent, joining in the laughter of the gulls
Mesmerized in brush stroked skies, absent of life’s push and pulls

Lavender horizons, building up in layers to the blue
Feathered glimpses white cloud frosting, made as artist’s hands will do
Rippling out before me, a painting that keeps changing
Calm as glass in satin cool refreshed in grand arranging

Butterflies in pretty patterns delicate in lilt and glide
Dancing at the lakeshore my spirit drinks the waters of the tide
My mind at rest to wander out into the music made
And here where I belong, an instrument as life is played

Calm as glass in satin cool....now that is
a unique statement. And I like it...as well
as the rest of this very pleasant poem...

This tittilates all of my senses and so I would like to save it as a personal favorite
