Night comes on a shadow’s edge, as dusk
soft shoes the afternoon away.   Gray
turns black against the stark white of
a monotonous billboard blinking the
bikini curves of a million dollar smile.

Nodding against the feast of slumber,
as the growl of a gut’s pit  awaits
the gong of twelve and hickory dickery
finds the dock..

Peace, the snooze beneath a hardbound
volume of quaint lore as the swish of
a glinting steel blade nicks the edge
of a curdling scream of reality echoing
the cavernous walls of cold stone.

Until a shiver awakens to the chill
of a pale moon in the shadow of howl
and scraping screech of claws across
the blackboard of countless stars.....

A faint tap catches the ear of
a dream....a whisper flutters the
lids of doze...

....nevermore....

Barry, I love that part. It made me smile
for some reason. I just love your writing,
King Magnus, whatever you write.

(big hugggsssssss) It seems like you know every inch of Poe's house writing with his grace, dearest friend, are you sure you two aren't bloodbrothers? (smiles) This is excellent, sweet friend, you pay the greatest homage to this literature legend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
