The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2003-06-24 03:45 PM

Though love be lost, 'tis not forgot
a remnant hovers through the air
my arms are cold, his voice is hot
I very nearly feel him there.

He speaks of days of used to be
the happy times we once did know
and now, I write of him and me
and ponder why we let it go.

Through times apart, throughout the years
a memory holds us in thrall
twould be so fine if he was near
this man I loved the best of all.

"A memory holds us in thrall"...interesting, wondering why it didn't work out if both have beautiful memories...I usually come to the realization that it didn't work out because one cared more than the other...looks like possibilities here...hope good things happen...James

Sandra,
You still have that aching heart thing down superbly. You put a little twist in my tummy when you write like this as I seem to feel the emotion involved. How nice to have you back. Hope you have had a full recovery.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Sandra there are some people you just can't forget. Even if it's not meant to be they touched us and will there "forever Be."

Cat, dear...while your poem is sad, I am so glad to see you back.  I hope that your pains will ease soon, and that we will see much more of you.

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Sandra, it is so wonderful to see you again, sweet friend, this is a sadly beautiful debut, and I know I have said this so many times already and it may not have happened yet, but believe me, He has a plan for you and love patiently will accept you wholeheartedly! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Ah, but I felt that ache but through it all I saw some strength and conviction to find love again perhaps? (Hope you are feeling better.)

Simple....but moving. Sometimes the best poetry is like that, without a lot of window dressing.

This is a wonderful verse.

I just recently went through a reunion with someone I thought was my long lost love...'twas not at all what I thought it would be.  But that is a good thing...now I can put him in the past where he needs to stay. However, I do remember what it was like to think about him and not be able to touch him or hear his voice...it was just horrible...I do empathasize, my friend.

Ohhhh Sandra, this is definitely what you do best ... express words that I can so relate to and in a way that would never occur to me.

And I am relieved to see that you feel well enough now to write and post ... hopefully that is a good sign, that you are heeling and feeling better.  Take care of YOU, dear friend.

Memories...oh that we could but touch the one that remains in our heart.  This piece is probably one of the most beautiful that  you have shared with us, and I am so glad to have been able to read it. (His puter is on and off.)  A very lovely write, from a very tender heart.....
