treasure

my breath was taken away
you said think nothing of it
puzzled at my reaction
which seemed out of proportion

I know it was only a
small silly little gesture
yet still it brought me great joy
because it came from your heart

and please know this about me
the simple things mean the most
for they give me great pleasure
enriching my life and soul

most people spend too much time
fretting or vexing themselves
over things that when seen in
the big picture don't matter

so please, do not stop and think
is this good or great enough
or will she know what I mean
for I find treasure in you

I was going to choose the same lines as my sister Nightshade..

And to think ... I almost did not post this little piece ... sure glad that I did ... for by sharing it I have been rewarded with joy.
