Listening to every heart

One Poem of Two Individuals

How many times
have you heard,
“There’s a poem in there”

your heart
seeking strings of light
to thread pearls of thought
to grace a diadem

How often does the act of desire
to be an individual
to seek the eyes of another
grip your emotion?

At what price,
individuality?

What would you not leave behind,
if the eyes
were not there
to greet you on your release?

At what cost
would you divide yourself from
all that you know
for such a compromised
promise?

Laleh & Laden
became a poem of heart,
an undying love
to see each other
without a mirror.

Neither wanting to live
if the other were to die.

But to stand straight
and go their own way
at any cost
was a dream.

Tears fell as scientists learned more
of what they can do
and what they cannot do.

Two brave women
go with their God.

But a joyful choice they made, I think.
Unfortunate, in the end, but how many of us might choose to "start over", as it were, from such adversity.

Nicely done, Sunshine.

Wow, K.  I read this one aloud to my daughter.  Excellent write, my friend.  Chelsea, too, was astounded by your talent.

....and when told the risks, they said they'd rather take a chance for a life, than have no chance.

A poem is well written when it makes one take pause to reflect about the event or lives portrayed.  Not much more to say then other than a well written poem.

They made the choice they wanted...
and put it into God's hands.
They are at peace now.
Well done.

I hear you my friend, I like this a lot

I said I'm going to buy a gun and start a war,
If you can tell me something worth fighting for

Karilea...I know how difficult it would probably be for them after so long, to be seperate, and understand how they must have yearned for this freedom.  And now peace.
