I've always stepped lightly, avoiding land mines Carefully colored within the lines Docile facade covered an inferno But my mask fit so well - who was to know? I spoke sweetly while inside hatred seethed And told of truth, pretending I believed Declared that I could make it on my own Wore a smile to disguise ache of alone Only rarely would I drop all pretense Allowing true heart searching to commence If someone got close, I'd back off because My eyes couldn't see past all of my flaws. Believe in yourself! was constant command I grimaced for they could not understand Belief needs foundation, love needs a guide And without either I only could hide Then I found friends who gave me their respect Uncaring that I am far from perfect That seed could have settled in a wasteland Instead it blossomed and faith took command No longer do I spend the hours of night Wondering why I can do nothing right My smile is sincere, no need to pretend - At last self-loathing has come to an end. |

A friend like that is hard to find -- be glad you've got 'em.....  (big hugggssssssssss) God Bless You, dearest friend, I come from the exact same path as you do, I used to hate myself too because I felt people were abusing me and I had nightmares because I was an evil person and I almost jumped off a cliff because I believed I was a bad influence to the world, but when I didn't go because I felt Him pushing me back, I knew that a much stronger force must be about so I gave Him a chance and now I feel the opposite and believe I belong and perhaps I am imperfect but have much to offer! (sigh) Yay, thank you so much for being YOU, you deserve extra warm friendship angel hugs for this, we all love you so much!
