Blazing Eyes

Muscles ripple with suppressed strength
tense with waiting what is to come
Silent stillness fills heated air
till there’s heard a gasp that’s fearsome

Blazing eyes shine with wild anger
of the restraints that hold in check
Seeking freedom the Black wishes
that none be placed upon his back

This unknown weight must now be thrown
to eat the dust from which it came
Then from his throat triumphant sound
victory the Black did claim

Winds fill heavens with darkest clouds
that boil as if they’ve been bidden
Then lightning streaks across the sky
reveal blazing eyes once hidden

I picture a stallion, black as midnight,
      captured but not for long.

Freedom is more than nothing but a word.

Thank you, everyone...I am so glad you enjoyed it....
A large black stallion he is with power that leaves one in awe and a desire for freedom that blazes in his eyes....A magnificent animal, that I was priviledged to gaze at in wonder while a storm approached across the horizon...I took this poem from real life..

With an ability to paint,  paint very well
all that your eyes and mind see.  Ya still
got the touch,  you always will.

I couldn't remember it this was a horse or
was your dragon...Now I know...
