An "X", Your Signature

I stopped today, to smell the roses,
met the soft breeze head on
allowing my thoughts to swirl
and dance to the sun's warmth,
finally bringing smiles to the many
who waited.

I was rescued by words of wisdom
and friendship's hand, reaching out.
I wanted you to be the bond
that couldn't be broken.
Your hands, to be the one that eased
me into tomorrow, living, loving
making dreams come true.

I speak no more, my thoughts unheard,
though words will escape
from time to time.
My dreams will take me to vision's past
stripping away the clouds that hung low,
feathering me lightly, with the fit of you.

You staged me in your presence,
marked for life, an "X" your signature
tracing the path, your touch left behind,
streaking me with the souvenirs of then.

Those files are thick, collected memories,
word by word, stamped and dated,
reminding me that nothing lasts forever,
that even when there is a loss,
the tears that flow are sometimes
of the happiness once shared...

That darkness always follows
the beauty of a sunset
and that I now walk the shadows
protecting me from the vague,
that use to secret my heart from you.

Today I stopped to smell the roses
and met the soft breeze head on~~~

I think that is the only way to come to terms with life's adversities...confront them head on and take from them what you will.

Any whoooo,  I'm glad the sun came out to shine on you...

Simply beautiful, Maureen -- it's great to read you again.  For some reason, this one made me picture Elise McKenna from SOMEWHERE IN TIME emoting to her diary regarding the loss of her Richard...  Either way, this had a flowing serenity to it -- well done!
