Ghosts on the Shoreline

On Acadia's stoney shoreline,
hosted by rough weathered pines
I will spread our linen tablecloth
on these rocks as old as time

A match to light my single candle,
and recall how you'd be pleased,
While I sit upon your memory
in the North Atlantic's breeze

Red wine of vintage lusty flavor
From the year when we first met
Saved for just such an occasion
Had you thought that I'd forget?

Erratic waves of ghostly seagulls
Ply the air above the sea
Their lonesome crys blend with the ocean
in their search for you and me

The years have passed in slow progression,
with you absent from my side
Sonn enough we'll be together
Joining hands beyond these tides.

hello! and apparently a late welcome from me

I like the way those seagulls accented the sky and your mood in this, which felt sad, yet seemingly accepting of your loss.

There is much love in the air down by the sea you write of.  I felt the missing in this, as well as all the beauty to be had.
