Slay not my soul upon the white,
the cotton cold of lonely bed.
Let once me ride, a chosen knight
upon the fields of battle bled.

For cursed is the once strong beat
of veins in crimson, now a drip.
A warrior’s wish, to be complete
beyond the realm of reaper’s grip.

My sword shall slice and slay upon
the yard and lawn, the rampart high.
The battle raged, the castle ruin
where foe and friend in skirmish die.

Lo but to hold the shining blade
and wield as though the feather light.
As courage shows the eyes displayed
into the wane of moon’s soft light.

For battle is the bed of choice,
as warriors ride to destiny.
the chosen death, the quelling voice.
A soul once bound, now wild, now free.

as warriors ride to destiny.
the chosen death, the quelling voice.
A soul once bound, now wild, now free.

The courage to live and die by his sword in freedom.

Slay me not here in my bed...I shall in courage rise and live, wild and free.

Alright Barry, this one spoke to me.

I wouldst not dream to slay the soul of such a 'mag'nificent warrior!

Thy pen is as mighty as thy sword!

To lay down the sword, once wielded in righteous battle, is a most diificult task.

A good strong write; thank you!

Each battle that you fight with pen
holds timeless ink that cannot fade
A Knight you bring from way back when
to right the wrongs of worlds you've made

STUNNING!!!! I LOVE IT...
