When I was a child
I had a dream
that one day
I would fly

I did not realize
then
that dreams drift
like the silent breeze
the golden seas
tranquility

on my knees
wings
wrapped around me

Too, too sad an image. Wings aren't meant to deflect sharp winds. They're meant to slice them!

A pretty write here, Susie!

I think I'm going to have to request a graphic for that image, Sue.

It's forever YOU in my mind, now.

Ah dear Sue such a heartbreaking image ... so beautifully written.
Hugs. Let the wings warm by the sun and fly ...

I know this...my wings have been wrapped around me for many years.  With some changes in my life, I am learning to stand and feel strength in my wings.  I hold the hope that someday I will soar.

Lovely, Littlewing...an image of which I can relate and take one step further in my mind.

Thanks
Patricia

tweets~  this is just too sad...The moment is a fleeting one, as far as dreams go.  I admire your short form that says it all!

Many hugs for you this morning~

(big hugggsssssssss) But at least knowing you feel the wings around you that angels are listening tonight and there must be a way to fly even if not in mortal life! (sigh) You always fly to us here, sweet friend, you are our sweet graceful spirit, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

yes.....sometimes they are for
keeping warm...
but you always know
they are there
when you want
to feel
the tears drying on a fast
diving
swoop

I think I know the feeling, and I especially liked the ending.

"on my knees
wings
wrapped around me"

Such griefs with such men well agree,
But wherefore, wherefore fall on me ?
To be beloved is all I need,
And whom I love, I love indeed.
