What gives you the right
to smile at me from
albums and frames

To stretch through years
so that your shadow casts
itself in too many memories

To use the word Love
when it only ever applied
to yourself and not us

What gives you
the right to linger
when I need to forget?

I take the pictures:
1. Burn them
2. Pack them in a dark box to be stored
3. Use it as a dartboard (my favorite)

It makes me feel better - at leats for a bit
good write my friend

Fabulous . . . I especially like

"To stretch through years
so that your shadow casts
itself in too many memories"

You have attained the elusive state of true poetry -- to place your heart inside of black and white words.

you took the words out of my mouth....pah, i wish, i cant write the way you do.

no but seriously, i hope youre not feeling this, but i know i am. Every word. how do you read my mind? And your words, give me strength, and enough anger to put away the pictures, and start letting go.

A clean write!

I had an 8X10 glossy of such that stared at me one too many mornings.  On that day, I dropped it in a shredder and watched it come out the other side, slowly, collapsing into the rest of the shredded secrets of my life.  Part of me wanted to grab the tiny pieces and somehow put them back together, but the rest of me said, "YAY!"
