Between you and I
and the sky falling down around us.
Remembering the sound of music that we made
a constant humming that sways me
and surrounds me everyday.

Blowing chimes in the wind
a whispers caress calls to me.
I have walked the shoreline
wishing the twilight of my life could last forever
maybe never, to pass this way again.

Holding onto the hope I wished to find,
a keepsake to take with me.
I found your charms half buried in the sand
reflecting the sunlight
polished like silver strands
strung loosely together.

I have turned them over a thousand times
clasped around my heart
handled with loving care
a hidden treasure of mine
that no one can take away.

Each one representing a cherished memory
significant of those days
between you and I
when the sky fell down around us
and we were the only ones there.

This part touched some thoughts & memories:

I was reading this and simply filled up with tears.  I need to take time to figure that out, but clearly this shook my soul.  Thank you.  It is pouring rain here and somehow this poem connected with the sound and the lightning was inside me.

Lori...In all sincerity, this is perhaps the best poem I've read from you.  One verse after the next, perfectly expressed, imaged and worded.  Damn...I'm impressed!  That vacation musta done ya good.

I know, it's hard not to shed those tears in the end.
But the memory is worth the smile that we share.
Thank you so much icebox~

Hey hey....how you be?  Thank you for your sincerity.
You kindness touches me in every way.
I'm always happy to see you here Duncan~
How long are you going to keep slacking anyway?  Huh, huh?

It's especially gratifying when you find a little something
to call your own.  Thank you kindly QJ~

Ever since coming back from the VA beach, I've worn a necklace that Mark gave me with a sandollar/shell charm on it so that I always have a part of the ocean and my host with me, hanging over my heart.
That being said you will know how much I love this beautiful poem...it needs to be printed out, put in a bottle and floated out on the waves.
Love the title..its perfect.
lovely lovely poetess Bluesy.

No matter what the cost

Now you've gone and made my eyes water JM.
Maybe I will do just that,  put it in a bottle and let it float out to sea.  What a beautiful thought that is, and even more so that perhaps it might float back to you.  Thank you Janet Marie~

Lori....there are tears in this, like icebox, I felt them well-up.  To pull emotion from the reader like that means your poem touches an emotional trigger that many have.  A wonderful expression, my friend!

I don't like to think nothing can last forever, but it's a fact that nothing remains the same.  Thank you for your caring reply Martie.

Maureen~  The soft side of me....opposed to what?  Don't answer!     Hugs and thank you.

Nancy~  The shore is filled with little treasures, and I have learned to expect the unexpected...be it good or bad.  Thank you always.

Dixie~ I liked the ending myself, simply because it was a time shared by two....and I thank you for that.

Patricia~   What a nice thing to say.  Thanks.

Hugging you tweets, and thank you for always leaving me smiling.

Oh, have I not done this as well...and all too often -- it's a fine place to visit, but...

You have a way of capturing these things, that I have a way of overlooking. Envy that about you.

Twilight always has special effects on our soul.
You say it with magical words.

I have turned them over a thousand times
clasped around my heart
handled with loving care
a hidden treasure of mine
that no one can take away
