You want to hear words
of joy from a daughter,

"I'm marrying the man of my dreams."

You want to hear words
of accomplishment,

"I have a 4.0 average."

But you never want to hear
these words spoken,

"They found a large mass in my ovaries."

You never want to hear the C-word,
the radiation word
or the chemotherapy word.

It is the sledgehammer of doom
that hangs over your head
and shatters your heart.
If you have faith...you will
either lose it or use it.
You will either turn to God
or turn away from Him.

Because, once those words you never
want to hear are said, they are written
in your heart, etched upon your soul,
can never be retrieved...

Words you don't ever want to hear.
Words that can't speak of
your despair. A child should never
have to say those words that
a parent doesn't want to hear.
