So bright across the sky her star did shine
To bring the scent of roses, days of wine
In colourful array and vibrant charm
She held her days of life upon her arm
I saw her for a moment, held by time
And in her wake I felt my spirits climb
She brightened me that day and my heart soared
In her I saw the hope of life's reward
A star that passed and fell into decline
Although her scent reminds of rose red wine
And brings to me the joy of days gone by
Where laughter filled my mind and cleared my eye
She's gone - but in my heart she's living still
I learned from her to drink of life - its fill

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Then she's smiling. *S* For we really can't ask for more... than to make life better... and be remembered with love. *S*

Beautiful tender write, dear lady... it's good to read your pen again! *S*

"I learned from her to drink of life--its fill"...

A legacy that she left behind that makes her star shine even more brightly.

You weave a special magic with your words; you always have and I know you always will.  This touches my heart

What a lovely tribute to Diana ... she was indeed a rose among many thorns, sharing the scent of her beauty with so many~

I really like the beautiful sincerity in this piece dear poetess~

Hi Keth. I enjoyed this one. In the first line, I'd rephrase to get rid of the 'did shine'. Maybe, 'So bright across the sky I watched her shine' or something.

Or maybe,
Her bright star streaked across the sky, the shine
brought scents of tender roses, days of wine
