Saluting with misty eyes

Perfection is what you seek
Yet that is not what I can offer
Not in my life now
For I am an imperfect being
Faulted in my own ways
Hated for who I am
Hunted for what I do
And yet not one of you really cares
It’s not for you to decide
Do I live or die
Clean or dirty… It’s my decision
While you can sit and tell me to feel
You cannot do this for me
You may light the path
However, it is my path to walk
Or to deny as I wish
The outcome may never be clear
While I travel in the City of Enlightened
I still reside in the State of Fallen
Doomed to reside within
Until I am released by the One
And brought back
To the Grace from which I came.
***************************

Written last night  after watching the movie 28 Days, and while thinking of a new friend who is struggling within herself.

Day after day I'm more confused,
So I look for the light through the pouring rain...

I am sure that your friend's struggles
inspired some of your thoughts within this
poem which has a lot of emotion.

I hope she is ok..

Sue- Thanks for the kind words. Besides, after our conversation, I knew that if I didn't write something soon, you were going to come out here and stand over me until I posted something.  lol
