expectation and reservation
shroud the new rose he brings,

longing to savor its beauty
as it sweetly unfolds,

finding myself instead
skipping storybook pages,

doused in red petals,
as they fall to the ground

The first time I got my girlfriend roses, she took a picture of them so that she would always be able to see them.

The memory of the rose far outlasts its actual beauty. Given from the heart, it lasts forever. Always goes with a little red vino, a box of chocolates, a little lube from the soul and a kiss!

Cool. And softly they fall I am sure.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Dried memories can still bleed if you mix them with tears.
Beautiful write.

Thinking about this one my friend...
Expectations and reservations...

Would that be the recipe for love?
