~*~
Old stories told
Thru' endless weaving,
Their tales of woe,
Of loss and grieving.

History rich
With native cultures,
Their broken bones
Were picked by vultures.

A peoples proud
Lost way of living,
Lost their land,
So nature giving.

Nations noble
Began disbanding,
With broken spirits,
Not understanding.

***

An august people
Once brimming pride,
Were then dispersed
Through country wide.

Ancestors sing
Of glories past,
Their ways of living,
And their outcast.

Winds do carry
Their soulful song,
Sung by spirits
Forever strong.
~*~

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Linda, my heart cries out to all my ancestors too, for I am largely Cherokee Indian blood and much of my family went through exodus and had to walk the Trail of Tears! (wipes tears) I pay homage to my heritage and read and study the songs and beliefs they hold true that shall never be forgotten, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and ligh always shine upon you!

Love,

Aha! You saw it! You had actually crossed my mind as I was writing this poem! I knew of your Cherokee blood. I do not have any native blood in me this time around, but my spirit remembers!

Linda, I knew you were roaming the woods with me a couple of weeks ago!

We have always been a people of greed and continue to take what is not ours, to destroy that which is different and try to change anothers way of thinking. It is sad that as a race, we never learn from the past.

Thank you for writing this. It was exceptionally good!

Hugs my friend ...

This is wonderful, filled with past and pain, enjoyed the first lines.

Old stories told
Thru' endless weaving,
Their tales of woe,
Of loss and grieving.

A story told in a few short lines.

Thanks for the sharing your Spirit Song

A wonderful Spirit song, dear Linda! These people had such high vibration levels .... and indeed it hurts deeply even now, that they were not understood. How much wisdom they had to share!
Love and hugs. Margherita

Linda, I do have some Native American blood in me......more Irish, but some Indian. My Honey-Love is about 3/4's Indian, I think.
Anyway, thank you very much for this.

I had hoped that you might be drawn to this poem by the title. Knowing of your Native American blood, I thought that you might appreciate the story I was telling.

Thank you for the kind words!
