Still Life

I looked into the pictures stare
But did not share the moment’s snare
It hides a distance from my mind
Another time another rind.

It lies within forever’s care
A moment in the past of wear
A weave, a string, a tie, a knot
Within a file within a slot

Within a draw without the sun
A moment lived a moment done
It stays the coffers of my core
But lives beyond a subtle door

It has a trigger in my heart
There is a button pushed to start
It stays within an Islands shore
And will that place forever more.

Although in time it may to dust
It will remain my soul in trust.

Your words have never been so beautiful to me. If I were in a still life...I wish to be painted in my garden. At one with the daisies and such...sunny, but shaded. Yes.
Oh, now you have me pondering your words again!! Better get another cup of tea and a butter tart. hugs to you dearest poet. Chris

Oh yes, Seymour. Good morning, Sir.
I hope you have a good day on this gloomy day. I'll be glad when it quits raining! It's depressing.

A photo of a love gone by ...
A memory that makes you sigh.
The moment you knew you could fly,
The first time you heard your baby cry.

Memories under glass kept by caress of frame ...
holding treasured moments of time in raptured refrain.

(like the "Sy scribble sketches" I have hanging on my wall)

No matter what the differences
No matter what the cost
When words become our weapons ...
All that's beautiful is lost.

Yes. *S* Some things do remain... always. *S* And those are usually the ones that make live still living. *S*

Beautiful work, dear friend. *S*

Sy

Sometimes a still life painted from the start
is the very thing that can again break the heart.
