An optimist retires each night
Smiles thinking of tomorrow
Pessimist heaves the deepest sighs
As he tallies day's sorrow
One's "Yes I can" to everything
The other's "I don't think so"
A silver lining shines for one
The other wallows in woe
For one the days ahead are bright
The other dreads what they bring
World keeps turning round and round
And neither changes a thing.

Ruth,
I lived with that once...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Suthern, this is so very true, dearest friend, and it bothers me to see it all as this for without determination, the whole world can feel bleak and then before we know it we don't know how to live! (sad sigh) If light can produce a full moon, anything is indeed possible, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Enchantress, Larry, garysgirl, JM & M'Toe: Thank you all so very much for reading and responding... I truly appreciate it. *S*

And, yes, JM... you can't keel over from shock unless I get to do so also. LOL This is posted as a direct result of the nagging... though it may not quite be what anyone wanted? LOL But I had to take a bit of a break from the angst of the last one... how better than to play with words. *S*

I'll take the silver lining, and the "Yes I can".... because I've seen those clouds and know that sometimes they happen, and yes, sometimes I can.

Thank you, Suthern lady.

I'd be a pessimist but it probably wouldn't work out anyhow....

"I don't want to" is the worlds most used excuse.

Wise write gal...

how about optimists who want to smile but sometimes cry
or pesimists who wipe away their frown, and sometimes smile
or one who has so many names she can't decide which one she is......??
very nicely done lady.....

Well auntie -- yanno what I always say.

I don't care if the glass is half empty or half full, as long as it's Jack Dannels in it

Heckuva job here Ruth -- and I remember the days when you used to just lay back and read everybody else's stuff....

The last line is the trick huh?

I like this. I once read, An optimist thinks that this is the best possible world. A pessimist fears that this is true.

Thanks,

Ruth, I've already replied to this one, but thought I'd reply again.
I've been wallowing in woe for a few days now, and I'm so sick of seeing the glass half empty....back to the half full glass for me. Hey, that sounds like a good poem, huh? I think I'll go put a challenge in the discussion thing back there. LOL
Hugs to you, my friend
