speaking of the sea
have you noticed it curl
like toes do
in the peak of
an unimaginable
infinite glee

have you seen the waves swim
one over another
in a glide that is
interspersed with froth
that can only be matched
(perhaps bettered)
by the warm lather spawned
in love’s embrace

I have seen the sea curl
and the waves swim
like layers of silk
while surfers slid
over the arched back
of the crimsoned
queen

so many times

though, of late
I experience pain
in each moment of brief notice
for the beauty of the scene
puts me in a capsule
that takes me back
to crimson sunsets
that inhabited
the long evenings of admiring
your pleasing presence
alongside the pleased shadow
of me

the sea still dances
and the waves churn their froth
but our footprints on the sand
have been washed away
leaving the shadow
widowed

You speak so softly of the sea and as usual, you ended your poem on a memorable note.

Entrancing, Sudhir.....you have a voice that is unique, a style that's gentle but masculine, and a way of looking at things that is completely captivating. I've never seen a poem of yours that didn't make me glad I read it. This one particularly so, since I live near the sea, and those images resonate with things I see often.

Sudhir, this is the first poem I've read in Open this morning, and I am so glad. This is absolutely beautiful. I love the beach and that's what this reminded me of.
Thanks,
Ethel

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Sudhir, this sounds so sad, dearest friend, the waves can always erase the footprints left behind but the agate will always sparkle on the shores, with the memories of two lustrous eyes! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is lovely, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
