state of confusion

You etch my face with time -
trace each line sun-kissed,
sweep me up in breezy smiles,
arrest my thoughts
in green-eyed gazing.

You claim me now
and again in arcs rolling,
ripple the sands
making kelp forests dance,
breaking in a wavy crush
while I acquiesce,
solid as eroding cliffs.

In the retreating light
and ebbing tides
you are driftwood

beneath a Conch sky.

You made nice use of the driftwood
when comparing it to those feelings
that come and go.

Wonderfully descriptive Corinne~

"solid as eroding cliffs"

Nice line, Cor,

Now if I were going to be a tree (but that's another story) I'd want to end up as driftwood.  Something comfortable and relaxing about that . . . floating . . . or gently rolling on the beach . . . or laying in the sun all day . . .

Very nice, especially this bit

and again in arcs rolling,
ripple the sands
making kelp forests dance,
breaking in a wavy crush
while I acquiesce,
solid as eroding cliffs."

This one speaks to me these days as I embrace the sea and its wonder...
of course it said a few other things that would surely make me blush.
