cobalt overtures tremble
fossilizing the bass
breaking slates
below sea level

dialog lying
stark naked
inside a startling embrace
of the cool
the collected

I am entrusted to soothe
the helter skelter psyche
of a wide eyed lethality
that will screw my head on
haphazardly
and send me away
with a satchel of muck
and a handful of grit
franchising my lobotomy
for future generations of dreamers
to cower in the spotlight of

maybe its all just
a fear of commitment
a fear of being committed
to one of those lesser institutions
or one of those lesser women
that has my screws wormealing the wood

I never painted anyones portrait
with pastels in mind
but when the floodgates open
you are usually required
to oblige the assassin within
or
he will turn you inside out
by whatever means available
or maybe that’s the drugs
you know
those cloaked serpents
that move within the shadows
and framework of my letterhead
mixing with the locals
not a one of them
wears a name badge
so its hard to know
who is to blame

somewhere along the line
Id like to meet
a woman
yes, one of those
one that keeps a light
burning inside
one who doesn’t have
ties and binds
one that takes my mouth
to a quiet place
where we can close out
the trivial pursuits
that I need not imply

Steven, I hope that you find her, too.

Gary'sGirl stole the  lines I really enjoyed

I, somewhere along the line, would like to meet a man who does the same...

Not sure if they exist anymore.
